My Food Life

Hsin-Yu grew up in a big Taiwanese family, and food has always been an important part of their life and culture through which communities are celebrated, memories are shared, and knowledge is passed.

They started their cooking journey at the age of six when their mom told them to cut their own apples (because she hates apple), and has been deeply fascinated by the beautifully chaotic food world ever since. They're current keeping a weekly cooking journal on their personal instagram.

They are a certified Class-C Baking Technician in Taiwan, and have been running their own pastry baking brand, La Pâtisserie de Marguerite, since middle school. They're pastries were sold in Lole Farmer's Market, Moon Farmer's Market, and through their website when they were back in Taiwan.

After moving to Seattle, Hsin-Yu has witnessed and participated in many different aspects of the local food system. Through eating, cooking, growing, observing, and involving, Hsin-Yu aims to create positive impacts in food equity and nutritional education, and bring love and resilience to people's relationship with the food systems.
